About The Misunderstood Mom
The Misunderstood Mom brings candid, honest reporting to the parts of motherhood, wellness, changing bodies, and peptide use that rarely get an honest conversation.
We pair lived experience with careful research, creating readable stories that respect the science, the uncertainty, and your time.
Our standards
Who we are. The Misunderstood Mom is published by a company that also sells peptide products. We say that here, plainly, because you deserve to know who is talking to you. Our articles are education. What you buy or put in your body is your decision, made with your doctor.
Links to sellers. Several of our peptide articles link to Trusted Peptides, a separate company, as an example of a seller that publishes independent lab reports, and our copper peptide article also links to one of its serums. We don't own the company, and we aren't paid for those links. A link isn't a guarantee: hold every seller, this one included, to the checks in Article 11 (reading a lab report) and Article 23 (spotting a safer seller).
No paid coverage. We don't accept payment, gifts, or free products in exchange for coverage. If we ever run sponsored content or affiliate links, they will be clearly labelled.
Research is linked. When we share a number or a study, we link to where it came from.
We tell you what we don't know. When the evidence is thin, early, or only in animals, we say so.
How we source. Sources are listed at the end of each article. When a study is small, early, in animals, or funded by industry, we say so.
Real stories only. Reader stories are published only with the writer's written permission, and we may shorten them for length. We never invent stories or present made-up people as real. If we ever use an illustrative example, it is clearly labeled as one.
No product promises in stories. We don't publish reader stories that make claims about a specific product, dose, or treatment.
Your doctor comes first. Nothing here is medical advice. Decisions about your health belong with a licensed clinician who knows your history.
